The Department of Housing and Community Development oversees a variety of programs that benefit the residents of the Village. This department is extremely pro-active in grant writing and administration, and is currently managing criminal justice, domestic violence, revitalization, and youth grants.
Among the programs offered are:
· Community Development Block Grant Program - funds are obtained through the US Department of Housing and Urban Development for such activities as Main Street Revitalization, youth services, senior citizen activities and literacy.
· RESTORE - emergency home repairs for people 60+ who meet income eligibility requirements. Work may include roofing, heating system replacements, plumbing and electrical repairs.
· Paint Grants - funding of up to $250.00 for painting the exterior of the homes of Village residents.
· Summer Feeding Program - breakfasts and lunches are served during July and August at various sites throughout the Village for youths up to 18.
