Dedicated August 24, 1947 by then Mayor Anthony Milewski as a living memorial for Spring Valleys war heroes of the second world war. He thanked the people of the community for their help in creating the park and expressed the hope that the people of the community fifty years in the future would appreciate the efforts made by his generation. We hope that all the youth and adults of today who use our memorial park, do give thanks to the good folks who on August 24, 1947 worked hard, so we could live a better and happier life here in Spring Valley, New York, a great place to have friends and grow up.
