The Village Court's jurisdiction includes criminal and civil matters pertaining to Spring Valley residents and businesses, as well as traffic violations committed within the Village boundaries. The Court Clerk is available Monday through Friday, excluding holidays to assist you in any of the following matters: Civil Summons,
Landlord/Tennant, Small Claims, Suspended License, Traffic Summons, Village Summons.
We handle parking tickets to felonies. We receive violation from numerous
government agencies such as New State Trooper, the
Sheriff's Department and the Department of Environmental
Conservation etc.
Court is in session every week. We have three judges
- Judge Jourdan, Judge Smith and Judge Simon.
They sit on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Even if we
don't usually schedule regular court sessions on Mondays
and Fridays, those days are usually reserved for special
hearings such as traffic trials, jury trials, bench
trial, preliminary hearings etc.
Besides me and the three judges, we also have seven
full time court clerks and three part time court officers.
